Productivity Improvement for chemical plant - Experience based

To effectively run a chemical plant, focusing on productivity is a vital role playing activity. This will improve the RM to finished good conversion cost effectively. There are few key points which needs focus to improve plant productivity.

Time & Motion study.: TMS is the tools for primary activity for each productivity improvement in chemical plant. This will help to understand the GAP through out the conversion process from RM to FG. Once the gap is identified follow the 2nd next step i.e PDCA cycle.

PDCA cycle: PDCA is known as Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle. Once gap is identified planning need to be done among the team member to debottleneck the gap. Prepared the list of plan with action to going forward. Once plan is ready pick up one plan which weightage you think is high & implement in process. This is called DO. While the action is being continue in process check the each process stage parameter & record the data accordingly. Data recording will help while do the gap analysis before going for 2nd plan execution if first one is not worked. This is called ACT.

Constant monitoring on process.: Constant monitoring in process will to further optimize the process to bring down the operation cost & increase the profit margin. This will also help in increasing the EBITA.
